3 Piece Forged Steel High Pressure Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve

• 3-Piece (3PC) Forged Valve Body:The valve body consists of a left body, a right body, and a center body, connected by four long through-bolts, featuring a compact structure and high strength. Forged materials have a dense grain structure free of casting defects, providing significantly higher pressure-bearing capacity than cast valves, with excellent fatigue resistance and impact resistance.

• Solid Forged Materials:Manufactured from high-quality forged steels including ASTM A105, A350 LF2/LF3, A182 F304/F316/F316L, and A182 F11/F22/F91. These materials offer uniform microstructure and isotropic mechanical properties, meeting stringent material integrity requirements for ultra-high-pressure applications.

• High-Pressure Design Capability:Designed for pressure ratings up to Class 2500 (PN420), with even higher custom pressure ratings available. It is the only economical and reliable solution for small-bore ultra-high-pressure piping systems.

• Trunnion Mounted Ball Structure:The ball is secured by upper and lower trunnions and does not float under media pressure. Sealing is achieved via spring-loaded or piston-effect seats. Operating torque is only 15%–25% of that of floating ball valves, enabling reliable actuation of ultra-high-pressure valves with ease.

• Full Bore: Flow resistance is nearly zero and allows pig passage.

• Reduced Bore: Reduces costs, suitable for general on-off service.

• Precision Machined Ball and Bearings:Ball roundness ≤ 0.005 mm, surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.2 μm. Upper and lower bearings use SS316+PTFE, Devlon V, or metallic bushings with extremely low friction coefficients, ensuring no seizure during long-term high-pressure operation.

• Elastic Seats:PTFE, RPTFE, PPL, PEEK, and Devlon V‑API seats provide excellent chemical resistance and achieve bubble‑tight shut‑off.

• Metal Sealing:SS316+Stellite, Inconel 625+tungsten carbide, and solid tungsten carbide constructions offer high temperature and pressure resistance, as well as resistance to solid particle erosion.

• Self-Relief and Emergency Sealing:A Self-Pressure Relief (SPE) design prevents overpressure in the body cavity. A grease injection valve is provided at the stem for emergency sealant injection to restore sealing.

• Anti-Static and Fire-Safe Design:Conductive connections between the stem, ball, and body ensure static dissipation. The valve is fire‑tested to API 607/6FA and maintains sealing integrity after fire exposure.

• Live-Loaded Packing System:Flexible graphite or nuclear-grade graphite packing preloaded with disc springs automatically compensates for relaxation caused by thermal cycling and high-pressure pulsations, ensuring long-term reliable sealing.

• Multiple End Connections:Butt Weld (BW), Socket Weld (SW), Threaded (NPT), and Flanged (RF/RTJ) connections are available to suit various installation requirements.

Seat Princlple

Two independent seat rings grant the sealing, barrieragainst the line pressure actingon the upstream and downstreamsides of the valve which allows the valve tobe bidirectional.

A set ofcoil springs acting, between the upstream side ofeach seatring,andthe body,generate an uniform thrust on theseat which push the same against the ball and grant the sealingfeature with no orverylow pressureinthe line,when the line pressure increasethe thrust actingon theseat increases proportionally and the sealing leatureis granted throughout the fullpressure range.

Valve seating variations

Single Piston Effect

Single piston effect (SPE) is the stand ard feature for theseat rings of the J-VALVES SPE trunnion mounted ball valves.

On a SPE seat ring:

The pressure ac tingon the upstream side ofthe seat ringgenerates aforce which push theseattowards the ball.The pressure actingon the downstream side ofthe seatring generates a force which pull theseatring away fromthe ball.

Anyoverpressure which may be generated by the thermal expansion of the fluid trapped in thebodycavity with the ballin fully closed position, will beautomatically dischargedinthe line on the lower pressure side.

Double Piston Effect

Double piston effect(DPE) is a stand ard feature fortheseat rings ofthe J-VALVES trunnion mounted ball valves & recommended forwelded body valves. Ona DPE seat ring, both the pressure acting on the upstream sideof theseatring andthe pressure acting on thedownstreamside of the  seatring, generatea forcewhich push the seattowards the ball.

With th is type ofseat ring,the eventual over press ure whichmay be generated by the thermal expansion ofthe fluidtrappedinthebodyeavitywith theball in fullyclosed position,can be discharged by the use of:

An external safetyrelief device.
