Double Flange Concentric Butterfly Valve with Worm Gear Operated
Double Flange Butterfly Valves employ a similar principle to ball valves. Nevertheless, instead of a ball positioned within the valve body, a circular disc (referred to as a butterfly due to its resemblance to wings formed by two half circles surrounding a vertical shaft) is used.
Similarly, the flowrate is determined by the orientation of the butterfly. When the butterfly aligns with the direction of the pipe, presenting the smallest cross-sectional area to the flowing fluid, maximum flow is achieved.
Conversely, as the butterfly deviates from the pipe's direction, the flowrate is impeded by the increased obstruction area. Eventually, when the butterfly is positioned at a 90-degree angle to the pipe, the flow is completely shut off.
